Spin Cycle

Angela (she/they) is a Mexican American writer from Los Angeles. They were a staff writer for Disney Television Animation’s Annie-nominated comedy series PRIMOS. Angela has also written for PAW PATROL and its spin-off RUBBLE & CREW, Nickelodeon’s latest DORA & FRIENDS and KID COWBOY, PBS’ newly released PHOEBE & JAY, and AppleTV+’s Peabody Award-winning series STILLWATER among others. SPIN CYCLE: THE CHANGE WE CARRY is Angela’s first original animated short film and based on their own lived experiences in LA.

Monique (she/her) is a versatile Production Specialist who calls NYC home. With over a decade of experience in video production, and editing, Monique’s multicultural background as a Venezuelan, Trinidadian, Black American has enhanced her ability to connect with a variety of storytellers and projects. Having worked at esteemed studios like Skydance Animation, Netflix Feature Animation, Zero VFX, and Blue Sky Studios, Monique’s global perspective, combined with her meticulous attention to detail, ensures the creation of world-class animated content that captivates audiences around the world.

Daniel (he/him) is a film production student at Lynn University from Venezuela. He is passionate about the filmmaking process, from storyboarding to post-production. He has helped Simply Robotix produce short films for LFI Spark Animation fellows, including Remember the Rats” and “Spin Cycle.” Daniel values media preservation and enjoys collaborating with teams to complete film projects. In his free time, he is a philatelist and a tennis fan, volunteering as a ball person at events like the Delray Beach Open and the Miami Open.

Renato “Ren” Bernal (he/him) is a Director, Production Designer, Character Designer, and Story Artist with over 10 years of experience in the animation industry. He is the co-founder and Creative Director of NuBoom Studios, where he leads the development of original stories and helps guide projects from concept through production.

Having worked in animation production and as a SAG-AFTRA voice actor for over a decade, Stuart (he/they) is the co-founder and Production Director of NuBoom Studios where he handles operations across projects, making sure every heartfelt story and every talented team has the tools they need to develop the creative vision, achieve it, elevate it, and have fun doing it!

After starting as a coordinator for the Visual Development team, Yssa (she/they) is now a Producer at NuBoom Studios and the go-to contact for day-to-day internal operations. Whether it’s hitting the next deadlines, organizing team members, or running extensive trackers, Yssa manages every project with care and efficiency.
